Fourteen tables. Twenty-two opponents who remember you. And one honest number that grades every decision you make. The Grind is an offline holdem poker trainer: Texas hold'em, single player, no internet, no ads.
A poker campaign wrapped in a story. It plays in portrait, with one hand, with no connection at all - on a plane, on the metro, anywhere. No lobby, no waiting, no chat, no turn timer.
READ THE PEOPLE, NOT THE CARDS - POKER AS IT IS PLAYED
Every opponent carries one observable habit: how they bet, when they go quiet, what they do when it hurts. Name it correctly and that player is solved for the rest of the campaign - and they are working on you at the same time.
Twenty-two recurring characters, each with their own face and voice, who talk between hands and react to how you play.
GRADED ON THE DECISION, NOT THE POT
Every fold, call and raise in a holdem hand is measured against the pot odds and your real equity, then costed in chips: expected value, per decision.
The game will tell you plainly that you played it correctly and still lost, and that you won a hand you had no business winning. One accuracy score drives the thermometer on the felt, the session graph and the coach's tone.
A POKER COACH WHO ACTUALLY TEACHES
Twenty-eight lectures, all replayable, none of them interrupting a live hand. Eight on the fundamentals - the rules, hand rankings, position, pot odds, expected value - and twenty on the specific habits you are learning to spot.
Never played holdem poker? The first lectures deal you a hand and explain what a street is, who acts when, and why the same cards are worth more from one chair than another. Any term the coach uses can be tapped for a one-breath definition.
YOU HAVE POKER TELLS TOO
The game runs the same analysis on you that you are running on everyone else, and then it shows you the file: your dominant habits as percentages, named in the same vocabulary.
Once a session the coach stops and names the one mistake you keep repeating - the specific one, from tonight. And the table can see it too: fold too often to pressure and somebody will say so, out loud, and then start pressuring you.
HONEST POKER
The holdem deck is shuffled and dealt straight, the same for you and for them. No rubber-banded odds, no river that arrives because the story needs it, and nothing for sale that improves your hand.
Chips are virtual: no real money is wagered and no real money can be won.
A POKER CAMPAIGN, NOT A LEVEL SELECT
One bankroll carries the whole climb. Every rung triples the buy-in, and busting drops you back down to rebuild - but the reads you confirmed are yours to keep, so you come back up knowing the room.
The training table is always free to sit at, so the floor never locks you out. A cinematic interlude between every table, 119 full-screen plates, two endings.
